Cosmelan

Cosmelan® is a product developed in Spain by Mesoesthetic and is a wonderful peel for treatment of brown spots, skin discolorations, and acne. The peel acts by inhibiting the production of tyrosinase, the basic enzyme in the process of melanin formation. By blocking this enzyme it blocks the skins ability to produce melanin related discolorations.

The skin is degreased and then Cosmelan® 1 is applied. The patient is then sent home with the mask to be left on for a predetermined amount of time. The patient, after the time has expired, washes the mask off and applies a special moisturizer provided by us. After a few days the patient‘s skin will go through a peeling process, leaving the skin slightly red but very clear. The patient will continue to apply Cosmelan® 2 daily for the next 6 months to eliminate any problems returning.
