Restylane® is made from hyaluronic acid which is a natural component of the body and has no risk of allergic reaction. When injected it adds volume to the areas of the face and causes a natural "plumping" of the injected area.

Prior to the injections, a local anesthetic may be used. The procedure takes about 20-45 minutes and is only mildly painful. The majority of individuals have Restylane® injected around the nose, lips, cheeks, chin and between the eyebrows. Restylane® can also be used for lip augmentation.

After the injections, there may be mild redness or swelling which resolves in 2-5 days. The effects of Restylane® last about 6-9 months and gives patients a youthful and wrinkle free look.
